Team members join a performance-driven, customer-focused environment where continuous improvement and innovation are valued.Role Description The Controller is a full-time, on-site position based in the Rochester, New York Metropolitan Area. This role oversees the company’s accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. The Controller prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensures compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations, and manages budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising the accounting team, maintaining internal controls, supporting audits, and partnering with leadership to provide financial insights that inform strategic and operational decisions. The role also involves improving financial processes, implementing best practices, and leveraging financial systems and technology to increase accuracy and efficiency.Qualifications Strong foundation in accounting and finance, including general ledger management, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.Proficiency in internal controls, compliance with GAAP, and experience supporting internal and external audits.Hands-on experience with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid skills in Excel and financial data analysis.People leadership capabilities, including supervising accounting staff, delegating tasks, mentoring team members, and fostering collaboration.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders and partner with cross-functional teams.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.Several years of progressive accounting or controllership experience, ideally in distribution, wholesale, consumer goods, or a related industry.High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail, with a commitment to ethical and non-discriminatory practices.
