This is a high-impact role that directly influences project success, client satisfaction, jobsite culture, and the reputation of our company.This position reports directly to the Division Manager.Position SummaryThe Superintendent is responsible for managing and leading day-to-day field operations on residential construction projects. This role owns site execution, safety, cleanliness, schedule adherence, subcontractor coordination, quality control, inspections, documentation, procurement support, and risk management in the field.The right candidate is not just managing a jobsite, they are setting the tone for how the project runs.What Success Looks LikeZero accidents and a culture of safety for employees, subcontractors, clients, inspectors, and the surrounding communityProjects reaching substantial and final completion on scheduleHigh-quality execution with minimal to no reworkClients having such a strong experience that they cannot imagine building without us againProtecting the company’s interests by leading people well, executing projects well, and supporting healthy project profitabilityKey ResponsibilitiesSafety LeadershipSafety is our number one priority. The Superintendent is responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant jobsite for everyone who enters it.Schedule ManagementBuild and manage a detailed project schedule aligned with the owner agreementCoordinate closely with the Project Manager to ensure selections, materials, and decisions happen on timeLead weekly task and coordination meetingsAssign responsibility clearly, hold team members accountable, and keep the project movingDocument delays and communicate schedule risks early and clearlyMaintain consistent communication with the owner and internal team regarding timeline and progressField OperationsLead daily field execution and jobsite flowMonitor work in place for quality, accuracy, and adherence to plans and specificationsCoordinate subcontractors and sequencing to keep production efficient and professionalCollaborate with the Project Manager around cost alignment, labor flow, procurement, and field conditionsMaintain site cleanliness, organization, and professional presentationRelationships & CommunicationBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal team membersCommunicate clearly through daily reports, updates, coordination notes, delay notices, and change-related documentationFoster a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented environment on every projectRisk ManagementIdentify project risks early and actively manage themEnsure work complies with current plans, specifications, and applicable building codesHelp manage all scope, cost, and time changes properly and in writingMonitor subcontractor performance and communicate issues quickly and transparentlySupport documentation that protects the company and keeps all parties alignedProblem SolvingQuickly assess site issues and coordinate practical solutionsListen well, think clearly, and respond with good judgmentKeep the project moving without sacrificing quality or communicationTechnology, Documentation & OrganizationUse company software and technology at a high levelMaintain strong documentation across procurement, schedules, meetings, drawing revisions, changes, field reports, and other project recordsHelp ensure the company’s systems are used well enough to protect project outcomes and reduce riskWhat We’re Looking ForBase salary range: $70,000–$110,000 per year5–8+ years of residential construction experiencePrior experience as a Superintendent, Construction Project Manager, or ForemanStrong understanding of residential construction sequencing and methodsMiddle Tennessee / Nashville market experience preferredStrong leadership presence on the jobsiteDetail-oriented mindset with a positive attitudeExcellent communication and organizational skillsHigh level of personal integrity and professionalismPassion for construction, quality, and continuous improvementAbility to stay mentally sharp, focused, and composed under pressureGenuine commitment to delivering a great experience for all stakeholdersCulture FitWe are looking for someone who is aligned with our mission and who cares deeply about:qualityaccountabilitycommunicationstewardshipinnovationteam leadershipclient experienceThis role is best suited for someone who takes ownership naturally, leads from the front, and wants to be part of building a company known for excellence.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salaryW-2 employmentVehicle / phone reimbursement: $1,000 per monthFuel reimbursement: $400 per monthHealth insurance reimbursement: $500 per monthAnnual bonus opportunity of up to 20% of base salary, based on company and project performance3 weeks paid time offCompany holidays, including:Your BirthdayThanksgiving Daythe day after ThanksgivingDecember 24–25Why Join May ConstructionThis is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in a growing company where your leadership in the field will matter.
