GA-EMS’ expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.The Business Systems Architect (BSA) serves as a critical bridge between business strategy and technology implementation within the Office of the Chief Operating Officer. Reporting to Business Management, this role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise software systems and infrastructure that directly support organizational objectives.The BSA translates complex business requirements into clear technical specifications, working primarily with enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), and other mission-critical business systems. Through strategic system design and continuous optimization, this position enhances operational productivity, streamlines business processes, and reduces technical debt across the organization.This role requires both deep technical expertise and strong business acumen to ensure that technology solutions align with and enable General Atomics’ strategic goals.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications for enterprise systems including ERP, CRM, and other business-critical applicationsDesign, develop, and optimize IT systems, processes, and applications to enhance operational efficiency and support strategic business objectivesLead cross-functional collaboration efforts with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure technology solutions align with organizational goalsAnalyze existing workflows and business processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement through automation and system optimizationEstablish and maintain technical governance standards, ensuring data integrity, system security, compliance, and comprehensive documentation across all business systemsReduce technical debt through strategic system architecture decisions and proactive infrastructure improvementsManage and participate in the recruitment, retention, and development of human resources to ensure the availability of the required management and professional talent needed to meet business objectives and organizational requirements.Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.Additional Responsibilities (Preferred):Serve as Business Intelligence (BI) architect, developing new data warehouse functionality through modeling, designing, developing, testing, and implementing solutions within SAP, Business Warehouse, and Business Objects environmentsDesign intuitive user system interfaces and develop business application prototypes that enhance user experience and adoptionDevelop innovative solutions to address complex technical challenges and procedural problems that impact business operationsWe recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.Job QualificationsTypically requires a bachelor's degree and ten or more years of technical experience working with computerized financial, accounting, purchasing, payroll, human resources, manufacturing, or other business related systems. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. Must demonstrate detailed expertise in data analytics, report creation, articulation of analysis and budget setting and performance measurementsExperience in organizational and operational problem resolution is required.Strong leadership, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills are also required as well as the ability to interpret and explain complex operational issues. Ability to articulate, influence and infer is a must. Must be able to thrive in an ambiguous, changeable and complex environment with the ability to reprioritize constantly and improvise as needed to support the customers’ needs that include senior leadership and program management.Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.Must also be able to work extended hours and travel as required.Job Type: Full-Time SalarySalary range: 98,100 - 171,398
