Deputy Building Official/Commercial Plans Examiner

JOB Under limited supervision, performs duties related to supervision of the Building, Inspections, and Permit technical staff and the examination of building plans, Civil site plans, and related documents of industrial, commercial, and residential structures submitted to the County for compliance with all applicable codes. Work involves supervising and assisting in training the Inspectors and Permit technical staff; providing technical expertise in the review and approval of construction plans and complex job interpretations; and coordinating plan review and permit processing activities with other departments and divisions. Employee may act for the Building Official in the latter’s absence. Reports to Building Official.
