Project Management Consultant-Level 2 - Experienced (6 - 10 Years)

Description:This position assists in the overall management of assigned projects, to ensure compliance within required budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals.Employees in this role support construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site.Responsibilities include assessing productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on assigned projects.Participates in walk downs of planned work, validates acceptance of completed work to design requirements, and reviews contractor payment requests.Verifies constructability, ensures proper resource allocation, assesses field status, and resolves issues as needed.Coordinates project activities with vendors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, local community officials, and the company.Assists in scope control, budget oversight, resolution of technical issues, performance reporting, scheduling, and work-in-progress.Interfaces with landowners, local regulators, and state agencies.Reinforces expectations related to safety, procedure compliance, lessons learned, corrective action, and appropriate work behaviors for employees and contractor staff.Coordinates activities or groups such as safety programs, engineering, construction, budget, analytics, and contract administration.Interfaces with the projecta s designated management committee.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.This is an office-based role that can incorporate travel on an as-needed basis.The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction/renewables industry, demonstrated experience in project management, and experience interfacing with a wide variety of stakeholders across multiple disciplines.Education: A bachelora s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Land Surveying, or a related field is required, with PMP certification preferred. Strong organizational skills, familiarity with project management tools, and excellent communication abilities are essential.Relevant Experience:6 - 10 years of experience managing project execution, including vendor and contractor coordination.Responsibilities:Assesses productivity, monitors schedule compliance, evaluates work quality, and ensures safety performance at project sites.Supports budget oversight, assists in contract management, and validates project execution against defined work scopes.Analyzes key performance metrics, financial data, and operational trends to support strategic decision-making.Other: Travel to project sites as required (up to 25%). Experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.Attachment -Position Specific DescriptionThe Utility Scale Energy Storage team seeks a Project Engineer with a passion for renewable energy and experience in energy storage. Responsibilities include planning, designing, and managing energy storage projects, selecting equipment, coordinating engineering resources, supporting logistics and construction, and consulting across teams. The role requires technical expertise, strong project management skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail. You will analyze data, conduct technical due diligence, propose storage solutions, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maximize battery energy storage system performance.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects.Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and strive for better design quality and efficiency.Identify and resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions.Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.Support projects from inception to completion by working closely with project managers.Influence project teams on engineering tasks.Stay updated on project progress and technical issues.Manage project milestones and recognize risks.Collaborate with suppliers to integrate major equipment.Work with diverse teams to solve problems, improve opportunities, and integrate systems and controls.Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing, ensure clear communication, and propose solutions.Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.Handle other assigned duties as needed.Travel 25% of the time for project specific duties.Preferred Work ExperienceAn SME in substation or utility scale energy storage design and/or project management, with established expertise in one or more of the following areas:Power electronicsBattery storage system designSubstation designGeneration tie designData CentersDesign and/or operation of large-scale power generation or processing plants involving adherence to regulatory requirements while maximizing the performance and reliability of technically complex systemsHands-on experience or strong knowledge of construction methods, including foundations, trenching, electrical terminations and testing, and best safety practicesStrong knowledge of technologies in energy storage including varying battery chemistries, power conversion units and DC-DC convertersLithium-ion battery storage safety: Familiarity with UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sectionsFamiliarity with interconnection studies and GIA material modification adjustment (MMA) processes, particularly in WECC and CAISOConstruction permitting and contractingShows maturity of technical expertise and assumes responsibility for highly specialized technical objectivesStrong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical and non-technical concepts to diverse audiencesEducational RequirementsBachelor of Science in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program5+ years of proven engineering experienceBy applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
