Sr Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and data products in AWS and Snowflake that power analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases across Disney Experiences. This role implements, troubleshoots, and optimizes distributed solutions using technologies such as SQL, S3, Glue, and Snowflake, and solves large-scale processing challenges in a cloud data warehouse environment. The Senior Data Engineer designs and maintains curated datasets and data products that support reporting, analytics, machine learning, and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate applies technical expertise to challenging engineering problems and demonstrates strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills within an Agile environment.What You'll Do:Design, develop and maintain data pipelines in AWS & SnowflakeDesign and develop curated datasets, data models, and data products; assist with architecture decisions, deployment, and feedbackDebug and troubleshoot across a broad technical stackDemonstrated ownership of data products and ability to partner with business stakeholders in large-scale enterprise environmentsWorking with a variety of business partner groups across Disney Parks and Resorts to implement optimal technical solutionsRequired Qualifications & Skills:5+ years of professional data engineering experience in a cloud-based data warehouse environmentStrong knowledge of Python and object-oriented programming conceptsWorking knowledge of Java sufficient to troubleshoot and maintain existing applicationsProficiency with GitHubExperience leveraging modern developer productivity tools, including AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar solutionsExperience building data pipelines and complex data transformations5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, including designing, developing, and operating of cloud-based data solutions using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, Kinesis, or similar cloud-native data engineering technologiesSolid working experience with Snowflake native objects and featuresWorking knowledge of Data Build Tool (dbt)5+ years of experience in software development in an agile environmentProduction experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDKStrong conceptual understanding of security at rest and in transit for big data pipelinesTroubleshooting skills, ability to determine impacts, ability to resolve complex issues, and ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative in complex situationsStrong systems and data analysis skills, and experience with data unit and integration testingRequired EducationBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Distributed Computing, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science or related fieldThe hiring range for this position in Florida is $135,200.00 to $181,200.00 per year, in California is $141,900-$190,300 per year, and in Washington is $148700-$199,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
