Assistant Director, Data Analytics

Assistant Director, Data AnalyticsReporting to the Senior Director, Data Analytics, the Assistant Director, Data Analytics works within the Data Strategy department to develop and deliver data services and to conduct analysis to better understand the work and further the organization's mission to get and keep clients permanently housed. The Assistant Director manages data requests from departments and standardizes the communication and delivery of data services to stakeholders. They assist with evaluating relevant tools for data processing, visualizations, and distribution of data insights. The Assistant Director works closely with the Software Engineering team on shared projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Team managementSuccessful oversight and performance management of a team of Data Analysts and Data CoordinatorResponsible for implementing supervisory strategies, and systems of accountability to ensure that staff have adequate support, guidance, and oversight at all timesAnalytics and performanceSupport transforming data into actionable insightsAssist with creating detailed, user-friendly dashboards to empower evidence-based decision making by senior leadershipRespond to data reports requestsData strategyImplement the vision for how data supports innovation, alignment, and strategic impact across the organizationEnsure priorities meet deadlines; assist with creating project timelinesAssist with managing imperfect data and utilize strategies to fill gaps in data systemsCollaborate with teams across the organization on data projectsPerform other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science) or equivalent experienceMinimum 3 years experience in data analyticsPrevious supervisory experience preferredExperience and comfort with SQL, R, and programming languages used for data analysis; and Power BI and data visualization softwareAbility to read and document data methods in a variety of languages, such as R, Python, SQLStrong data processing skills and experience in any programming language used for data analysisAble to identify pain points and to help strategize solutionsAbility to clearly communicate data limitations and methods behind data outputsAbility to produce outputs from a variety of data systems to support and create consistent, accurate reportingUnderstanding of how to individually work with various, interrelated, data systems used by stakeholdersEOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled
