Undergraduate Internship/Co-op Program - Multi-Discipline Security Officer
As a Multi-Discipline Security Officer (MDSO) Intern for CIA, you will work side-by-side with other MDSOs in the collection and analysis of information regarding risks to CIA personnel, facilities, information, and operations. MDSOs recommend and carry out actions to protect CIA and the United States from individuals and organizations that would do us harm. As an Undergraduate Intern, you are expected to develop, display, and hone analytic and communication skills during your exposure to various security disciplines in order to protect and facilitate the business of intelligence.
You will have the opportunity to assist Multi-Disciplined Security Officers as they do the following work to support Agency customers:
Utilize basic elicitation skills and interview techniques to conduct interviews with subjects, references, and informants on common investigative and security issues
Analyze information collected by a variety of investigative tools, in particular, the background investigation and polygraph examination
Provide support to a workforce of adjudicators, investigators, polygraph examiners, analysts, and security technicians
Serve as a focal point for office-wide corporate and management information tracking metrics, resource allocation, process improvement efforts, and a multitude of regulatory compliance issue.
Conduct event-driven and time-critical special investigations, unauthorized disclosures investigations, and computer security investigations.
The MDSO career can also involve the collection, analysis, and reporting of security or counterintelligence related information, resource management, policy, and liaison with other Intelligence Community and U.S. Government partners. Both classroom and on-the-job training is provided, most of which is in the Washington, DC area.
Two 90-day tours are preferred; however, one 90-day tour is the minimum requirement.
