Job Title: Project Engineer Location: Hoffman Estates, IL Job Type: Full-time, On-site Job Description : Major ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Project Manager, Senior PM, Project Superintendent, and Subcontractors to gather information and produce daily and weekly project schedulesUpdate material needs based on project schedules and communicate these needs to suppliersReview plans and specifications to determine cost coding for labor, equipment, materials, and haulingProcess submittals, schedules, quantity takeoffs, and pay estimate dataCollect and review daily trucking logs, material summaries, and tickets from the fieldAssist the job superintendent in reviewing timecards to ensure accurate cost codingSupport the Project Manager or Senior PM in preparing for meetings and reviewing job cost reportsAttend and document weekly subcontractor and progress meetingsAdditional ResponsibilitiesPerform various duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Senior PMBe available during winter months to supervise snow removal operations outside of normal working hoursRequired Skills & KnowledgeBasic ability to read and interpret construction plans and specificationsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailProficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and WordStrong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-directed and motivatedPreferred Skills & KnowledgeExperience in heavy highway construction, either through internships or previous jobsProficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Access, Bluebeam Revu, Oracle P6, Viewpoint Vista, HCSS Heavy Bid, and Heavy JobGPS survey trainingEducation & CertificationsDegree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, General Engineering, or related fieldPMP certification is a plusPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs frequentlyAbility to stand for up to 12 hours per day with breaksAbility to stoop and climb frequentlyAbility to walk on uneven terrain frequently at job sitesAbility to drive long distances frequently
