Plant Controller - Columbus, IN Location: Columbus, Indiana Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 per year About the Role First Call Direct Hire is recruiting for a Plant Controller for a dynamic manufacturing facility in Columbus, IN. This role reports to the Director of Accounting and oversees all accounting functions across multiple business units. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment, balancing leadership with day-to-day financial operations. Key Responsibilities Manage full scope of accounting: General Ledger, Cash, Receivables, Payables, Inventory, Payroll, and Financial Statements Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciliations, and intercompany invoicing Monitor product costing, manufacturing variances, and financial performance Support process improvements and automation of accounting and management reporting Generate accurate reports, analyses, and executive dashboards for management Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team Coordinate external audits, property tax filings, and other compliance reporting Collaborate with management on projects, cost control, and strategic initiatives Qualifications 5+ years in a Controller or senior accounting role, preferably in manufacturing Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and best practices Leadership and team management experience, including mentoring staff Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; adaptable to new systems Bachelor’s degree required; CPA preferred Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills Why Apply?
