This role is focused on delivering exceptional alterations, fittings, and garment finishing while providing a white-glove customer experience.Working directly with customers and the retail team, you'll ensure every garment achieves a precise, professional fit through expert tailoring and attention to detail. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in men's tailoring who also has experience altering women's apparel and luxury garments.Responsibilities Perform professional alterations on luxury retail merchandise, including: Hemming Taking garments in and letting them out Sleeve shortening and lengthening Waist and seat adjustments Jacket sleeve alterations Shoulder and arm adjustments Garment reshaping Zipper and button replacement Hand finishing and invisible repairs Conduct customer fittings and recommend alterations to achieve the best fit Accurately measure garments and customers Alter men's apparel, including jackets, sport coats, trousers, dress shirts, tuxedos, and formalwear Perform alterations on women's apparel, including dresses, skirts, blouses, pants, and formalwear Work with luxury fabrics such as silk, cashmere, linen, velvet, leather, lace, beaded garments, and sequined garments Operate industrial sewing equipment, including blind hem machines, cover stitch machines, sergers, steam presses, and professional garment steamers Collaborate with the retail and embroidery teams on customer requests and special orders Maintain a clean, organized tailoring workspace Complete alterations within established turnaround times while maintaining exceptional quality standards Deliver outstanding customer service throughout the fitting and alteration process Qualifications 5+ years of professional tailoring experience preferred Strong experience in altering men's garments, including jackets, trousers, sport coats, dress shirts, and formalwear Experience with women's alterations is a plus Advanced knowledge of garment construction, garment fitting, and alteration techniques Experience performing detailed hand sewing and invisible repairs Proficient using industrial sewing machines, blind hem machines, sergers/overlock machines, cover stitch machines, steam presses, and garment steamers Comfortable working with luxury fabrics and high-end garments Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete multiple alterations while maintaining exceptional quality Excellent communication and customer service skills Professional, polished demeanor suited for a luxury retail environment,
