Production Worker

Mycological Production Worker Reports to: Department Manager, General Manager To be filled Start Date: ASAP Job Summary: This is a full-time agricultural position, assisting in all routine aspects of our production and packing operations. Work will include tasks in both warehouse and cleanroom conditions. The work will occur at the facilities of Maine Cap N’ Stem in Lewiston, ME and Gardiner, ME. Work will include: Preparation of growing media using industrial equipment in a warehouse environment Inoculation of growing media under cleanroom conditions Packaging and preparing wholesale orders for shipment Facility maintenance, disinfection, record keeping, and quality control Essential Skills Comfort with warehouse and cleanroom laboratory environments Must be willing to wear PPE: nitrile gloves, face masks, safety glasses, et al. Comfort with meeting a rigorous production schedule and maintaining focus with labor intensive, repetitive tasks. Comfort and competence with operation of industrial equipment Capacity to meticulously adhere to protocol Organized, detail-oriented, communicative Ability to lift 50 lb. Experience Preferred: Production work experience Forklift certification Interest in mycology Compensation: $16/hour starting wage Onboarding: 2 month trial at same schedule and compensation described in this ad; PTO allotted if formally hired on a permanent basis at conclusion of 2 month trial.
