Our strong work ethic, sense of urgency and commitment to going above and beyond for our clients is what we value most!As a Certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) that provides a broad range of administrative, project management, and medical staffing support services, we are also honored to be a Member of the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), and we encourage military spouses to apply for any of our positions for which they feel they are qualified.JOB TITLE: Strength and Conditioning SpecialistGOVERNMENT AGENCY & LOCATION:304th Rescue SquadronPortland Air National Guard, ORPOSITION INFORMATION: The primary responsibility of the SCS is to establish and administer effective strength and conditioning protocols designed to maximize the physical performance of assigned unit operators.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement and monitor individualized strength and conditioning programs for 304 and 306 RQS operators and combat mission support personnel at home-station, temporary duty (TDY), or deployed.Coordinate training programs with the HPO staff to ensure a safe and expeditious return to training of assigned personnel recovering from injury.Demonstrate and provide instruction and guidance on physical training, exercises, movements, and injury avoidance.Utilize screening information to develop pre-habilitation protocol and interventions if needed.Perform squadron member’s tests, measurements and evaluations and record findings to aid in developing and/or revising specifics of the treatment program or training program.Refer all personnel with an apparent new or undiagnosed medical condition to a medical provider for evaluation and treatment.Participate in periodic meetings to review and evaluate physical training programs and identify opportunities for improvement.Attend, participate in, and promote interdisciplinary meetings with HPO staff, medical staff, and the AFSPECWAR HPO enterprise.Participate in periodic in-service training for members of the HPO staff as appropriate. Attend required training in accordance with guiding instructions.Attend and participate in meetings with other HPO staff members and medical personnel as requested and/or required.Conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to ensure the HPO staff stays current with the provision of programming.Provide input for the development and utilization of the HPO data collection strategies.Participate in the collection and reporting of workload data as requested by the Squadron Commander.Assist the designated representative in developing and updating criteria-based job descriptions and performance standards.Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the HPO facility. Ensure that equipment and facilities are properly organized and utilized and are in safe working condition.Perform inventory of HPO supplies and resources, assist in preparing equipment and supply requisitions to replenishing exhausted supplies, conduct preventive maintenance for HPO equipment, and present new and emerging equipment for purchase consideration.Be physically proficient to demonstrate all prescribed exercises/techniques and capable of meeting physical demands of training with SOF including the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments to observe SOF training evolutions.The SCS must be able to lift and manipulate loads and weights up to 20 kilograms.Certification/LicensureMust provide proof of the current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCA). Required to include issue date and expiration date.Must provide proof of current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.Qualifications/Education/ExperienceA minimum of 5 years or more of demonstrable accumulated post-professional experience of developing long and short-range planning and coordination of sport/mission-specific performance programs resulting in attributable results with individual athletes and groups of athletes at the levels of NCAA Division I Collegiate, Olympic, professional sports, and/or Special Operations/AFSPECWAR Operators in the accompanying, respective settings.A bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in an accredited exercise science, health science, or physical education-related discipline. Possess and maintain current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or the Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCA).
