This position collaborates in providing expertise in the use and application of coding classification such as ICD-10-CM.Primary Responsibilities:Assign and sequence ICD 10 CM and CPT 4 codes for all specialty patient types, billing and reimbursement. These include, but may not be limited to, Primary Care, Pediatrics, Cardiology, OncologyQuery physicians when documentation in the record is inadequate, ambiguous, or unclear for coding purposesComply with HIPAA laws and regulationsRemain current on diagnosis coding guidelines and risk adjustment reimbursement reporting requirementsAssist RCM Leadership with developing policies, guidelines and SOPs for primary care and specialty codingParticipates in quality improvement initiativesPerforms related work and projects as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedWorks with manager to identify, develop and implement strategies for quality improvementQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredActive certified coder certification (CPC, CCS-P) through AHIMA or AAPCAt least two years coding experienceAdvanced knowledge of medical codes, terminology, abbreviations, anatomy & physiology, major disease, pharmacology and metric system.Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint, and WordExcellent understanding of ICD-10-CM coding classification and guidelinesExcellent understanding of CPT, HCPCS, and modifier coding and guidelinesRendr is an equal opportunity employer.
