Benchling ELN Engineer
Position Title:Benchling ELN EngineerWork Location:Santa Monica, CA (hybrid)Assignment Duration:6 monthsWork Arrangement:HybridPosition Summary:Process Development Team, is seeking a skilled Benchling ELN Engineer to join our team.The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing and configuring Benchling's Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) platform to support our testing and development activities.Background & Context:The candidate should have a strong background in software development and a deep understanding of scientific workflows in Process Development and Analytical Testing.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives for the ELN platformAnalyze current business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and automation through the use of ELN technologyConfigure Benchling ELN to meet user and functional requirementsDevelop custom workflows and integrations to enhance the functionality of the ELN platformDevelop dashboards and custom label reports leveraging BartenderPerform development testing & troubleshootingDraft technical documentationDeliver technical build according to sprint sessions & assess work effortMonitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise, ensuring the smooth operation of the ELN platformQualification & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a scientific related field2+ years of experience implementing and configuring Benchling ELNStrong understanding of laboratory operations and scientific workflowsStrong programming skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or JavaExperience development dashboards & custom reports leveraging BartenderExperience with Zebra printers & barcoding technologiesExperience working in a scientific research environmentExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to deliver on tight timelinesSolid understanding of development best practices including SDLCExperience with computer system validation
