Geographic Information Systems Analyst

Job Description:We are seeking a GIS Analyst to join a collaborative and supportive GIS team supporting internal business partners. This role is a backfill position and will focus on handling day-to-day GIS and data requests, map creation, and analysis work. The analyst will work with enterprise GIS systems and large datasets in a fast-paced, ticket-driven environment.TeamYou will be part of a close-knit GIS team consisting of specialists with varying levels of experience. The team culture is highly collaborative and supportive, with frequent knowledge sharing and problem-solving through chat and team collaboration tools. While independence is encouraged, teamwork is central to success in this group.What You Will Be Doing / Working OnSupporting internal teams with GIS and data-related requestsExtracting and validating data for reporting and regulatory needsCreating specialized and interactive maps using Esri / ArcGIS toolsPerforming data analysis using tools such as Python and DatabricksManaging work assignments through JIRA, completing tasks in priority orderStarting with straightforward data extraction tasks and progressing to more complex analysis and mapping work as ramp-up occursLearning and working within proprietary GIS and utility systems (training provided)Must-Have SkillsExperience with Esri / ArcGIS productsPython for data analysis and automationStrong background in data extraction, reporting, and analysisExperience working with Databricks or large-scale data platformsAbility to work independently on ambiguous tasksStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsCollaborative mindset and strong communication skillsPreferred / Nice-to-Have SkillsBackground in GIS, Geography, or Geospatial studiesUtility industry experience (gas or electric preferred)Experience with GE Smallworld, MAGIC, or SAPPrior experience supporting enterprise GIS environments
