Quality Engineer - Aerospace ManufacturingDirect Hire | 1st Shift (7:00am-3:30pm)CompensationUp to $107,000/year (DOE)Position SummaryThe Quality Engineer is responsible for driving day-to-day quality improvement initiatives while planning, coordinating, and executing specific quality improvement projects. This role partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards in an aerospace manufacturing environment.Must-Have QualificationsBachelor's Degree or 5+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering environmentMinimum 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in manufacturingExperience in the aerospace industryASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferredStrong understanding of AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality Management SystemsStrong understanding of GD&T and blueprint readingThorough knowledge of inspection methods, techniques, and equipmentExperience with AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) submittalsAbility to perform internal audits independentlyMust be able to work a minimum of 45 hours per weekRequired to pass an annual eye exam by a licensed optometristCore ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and PPE requirementsServe as the Voice of the Customer, addressing quality concerns, nonconformances, and customer complaintsAnalyze failures and perform root cause analysis and corrective actionsReview and disposition internal nonconforming materialLead and support continuous improvement initiatives across quality systems and processesInterface with engineering and operations to support new product launchesSupport Quality Inspectors to ensure compliance with quality and customer requirementsImprove first piece, in-process, and final inspection processesLead the submittal of First Article Inspection Reports (FAI)Install and monitor statistical sampling and process controls; report trendsPost and maintain Key Business Indicators (KBIs) aligned with company goalsAssist in developing quality personnel to reduce inspection turn-backsPerform 6S and internal audits; support external audits (customer, registrar, NADCAP)Support the Quality Engineering Manager in maintaining and improving the QMSPerform additional duties as assigned by managementPreferred Skills & KnowledgeExperience with common machine shop gauging and inspection techniquesStrong understanding of 6S methodologiesKnowledge of applicable aerospace industry standards and regulationsProficient with Microsoft Office and quality systems softwareStrong organizational, time-management, and project management skillsAbility to think strategically and identify efficiency improvements
