User Experience Researcher Location: Remote Contract Length: Through end of year with possibility of extensionThe User Experience Researcher role is primarily tasked with supporting ourUS-based clients and working with a large project team in delivering impactful solutionsfor our clients. This role focuses on understanding the human side of automation,specifically document processing within custom enterprise Transportation ManagementSystems (TMS).You will play a pivotal role in a technical project team implementing an IntelligentDocument Processing (IDP) solution. By studying user behaviors and current manualworkflows, you will provide the insights necessary to design improved processes thatleverage Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to automate as much as possible. As anearshore team member, you will be expected to work in alignment with US time zonesand collaborate virtually with the team and client stakeholders.What you’ll do:Define comprehensive research goals and select appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate complex business processes.Lead the recruitment of participants and conduct user interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability testing to understand current manual document processing workflows.Analyze user behavior to identify pain points, motivations, and opportunities for efficiency gains through the implementation of document processing and OCR technology.Collaborate closely with the UX Designer and technical leads to translate research findings into actionable insights, creating personas, user journey maps, and future-state service blueprints.Research and benchmark industry best practices regarding automated document processing and OCR to ensure client solutions are best-in-class.Present findings and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders and the engineering team to influence the design of automated workflows.Conduct validation testing on proposed automated solutions to ensure they meet user needs and deliver quantifiable efficiency improvements.Develop and maintain research documentation and contribute to the overall project reporting structure.Support in the development of executive level presentations / deliverables in Google Slides that adhere to Metafora brand standards.Adapt to remote collaboration tools and communication methods to align with theUS-based team.How you’ll do it:Own It: This is our company, and its success is our success. We develop ourselves, learn from others, and generously share what we know.What we need:Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Anthropology, Design, or a related field.3-5 years of professional experience in User Experience Research, preferably within a consulting, enterprise software, or logistics environment.Proficiency in visual collaboration and design tools such as Miro, Visio, and Figma to map workflows and present insights.Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs) for data analysis and presentation.Basic working knowledge of SQL or the ability to learn to perform data analysis.Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Experience researching or working with document processing software, OCR, or workflow automation tools is highly preferred.Proven ability to work collaboratively with UX Designers and technical engineering teams.Excellent English communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of the use of AI, LLMs and MCP is preferred.Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
