Database Developer (SQL)Location: Sterling, VA office Type: Hybrid: 2 days per week Client: REI Systems Visa: GC, USC, H4EAD, H1B (Prefer work permit who can join directly) Interview: In-person interview (prefer local candidate)ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and database objects.Develop scalable database solutions supporting enterprise applications.Perform SQL query tuning and database performance optimization.Analyze execution plans and identify performance bottlenecks.Support data migration, transformation, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation.Develop ETL/data integration processes.Collaborate with application developers, DBAs, analysts, and QA engineers.Troubleshoot production data and application issues.Develop scripts supporting automated database deployments.Ensure database solutions follow security, data integrity, and coding standards.Assist with data modeling and database design.Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate query development, documentation, troubleshooting, and performance analysis while validating generated code.Support data structures and pipelines required for AI-enabled features, analytics, semantic search, or machine learning applications where applicable.Required Qualifications7+ years of SQL/database development experience.Advanced SQL development skills.Strong experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle.Experience with stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, indexing, and query optimization.Knowledge of relational database design and data modeling.Experience troubleshooting high-volume enterprise databases.Familiarity with ETL and data integration.Understanding of source control and CI/CD practices.Familiarity with AI-assisted software development and modern data platforms.Preferred QualificationsFederal/FDA/HHS experience.Experience with Azure SQL/AWS database services.Python or scripting experience.Experience supporting AI/ML data workloads.Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance is preferred.
