React Front-End Engineer

Salary: $192,000 - 232,000 per year Requirements We require 2+ years of experience building production web applications with React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript. We expect hands-on professional experience with TypeScript, including typing patterns, interfaces, and generics. We look for experience delivering responsive, accessible user interfaces with HTML and CSS, ideally working from design specifications or design tools. We require experience integrating and consuming RESTful APIs, including authentication, pagination, and error handling. We prefer familiarity with Next.js, including routing and SSR or SSG concepts. We prefer experience with utility-first styling such as Tailwind CSS or another scalable CSS methodology. We require experience creating automated tests, with Playwright preferred and Cypress, Jest, or React Testing Library as acceptable alternatives. We value working knowledge of front-end best practices, including code reviews, performance analysis, debugging, and maintainable component architecture. We require the ability to work from our Austin, Texas office and commute to our required location. A background in front-end development for secure, reliable, and user-friendly web applications is strongly desired. Responsibilities We build and maintain front-end features in React, and Next.js where applicable, including routing, state handling, and component architecture. We translate product requirements and design mockups into polished UI implementations using modern HTML and CSS practices, with Tailwind preferred. We integrate front-end experiences with RESTful APIs using tools such as Axios or fetch, while handling authentication, validation, and robust error states. We develop and maintain automated tests, and we collaborate with QA and engineering to strengthen coverage and reliability. We optimize front-end performance by improving bundle size, rendering behavior, and network efficiency, while ensuring cross-browser compatibility. We participate in code reviews, technical conversations, and incremental refactoring to raise quality and improve the developer experience. We document front-end patterns and contribute to shared tooling, UI conventions, and reusable component libraries. We take ownership of features from implementation through release, including bug fixes and iterative enhancements. We work closely with product, design, and backend engineers to deliver secure, intuitive, and accessible user experiences. We proactively identify tradeoffs, edge cases, and implementation risks as we turn requirements into working solutions.
