As a Sr. Utilities Engineer you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish.What are the core responsibilities for the role?Lead a project team consisting of engineers, designers, third-party/utility coordinators and field personnel involved in the design, relocation, coordination, modification, analysis, and constructability of new and existing utility systems as part of large-scale transportation projectsWork on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction-related issuesCoordinate utility relocation/coordination efforts on behalf of Federal, State, and Local agencies or utility infrastructure ownersFollow Federal, State and Local codes, administrative rules, ordinances, regulations and requirementsCoordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirementsAct as a team lead in the execution of detailed design phases for all aspects of utility engineering and coordination workPrepare, review, and/or approve proposals, contracts, and cost estimatesNegotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants, and clientsLead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budgetPrepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirementsPerform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparationQualifications, Skills, and Competencies:Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering DegreeProfessional Engineering License7 years of experience in transportation engineering, design or construction fieldsAbility to manage engineering, design or construction projectsProficiency in MicroStation (ORD)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite requiredWhy would a candidate want this job?At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
