Our Electrical Engineers focus primarily on the design of building-related projects including healthcare, higher educational facilities, large commercial projects, and local government projects using Revit and AutoCAD software.General DutiesLead, supervise, provide guidance and training to a team of engineersDevelop electrical system designs of a given project based on scope of work and/or client RFPsProvide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of electrical systems for a variety of market typesConduct existing building surveys and documentation of existing electrical systemsDevelop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildingsWrite and edit project specificationsPrepare detailed design documents, reports, and studiesPerform code compliance researchCoordinate work with other disciplinesProvide construction administration servicesPerform QA/QC of design workServe as the primary contact for clientsAssist in the procurement of new work including the development of client relations and participation in project interviewsQualificationsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field10+ years of experience in electrical designPE License (preferred)Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelinesHands-on experience with the latest versions of AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Office, and engineering calculation and performance simulation softwareTeam management experience (preferred)Skills/AbilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced, multi-discipline team environmentAbility to prioritize tasks effectively in the face of shifting projects and deadlinesA positive attitude with colleagues and clientsExcellent oral and written communication skillsLocation:Roanoke, VAThis role is eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive U.S. based benefits package, including:Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and company holidaysWellness programs and employee assistance resourcesProfessional development supportBenefitsFor more information, visit our full benefits overview here.Third-Party Agency NoticeSalas O’Brien does not accept unsolicited resumes from external recruiters or agencies.
