The Product Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing products, conducting research and development (R&D), improving existing product lines, and contributing to the development of new product lines. In this role, you will play a critical part in building and delivering configurable CAD models within our Autodesk platform. Beyond CAD, you will contribute across the full product lifecycle: from Bills of Materials and manufacturing routings to applications engineering support and new product R&D. We are building our engineering capability from the ground up, and the right individual can expect several opportunities to step in, take ownership, and have impact across all segments of the business.Key Responsibilities:Configurable CAD & Autodesk Platform:Design, develop, and maintain configurable CAD models within the Autodesk platform (Inventor / AutoCAD) to enable rapid, rules-based product configuration.Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define configuration logic, parametric rules, and design intent that map to real manufacturing constraints.Continuously improve model accuracy, performance, and usability based on internal feedback and production outcomes. Product Data & Manufacturing Operations:Own and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with manufacturing and procurement requirements.Develop and maintain manufacturing routings that reflect actual shop-floor processes, sequencing, and resource allocation.Partner with production teams to resolve engineering-related issues and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency. Applications Engineering & Sales Support:Provide technical expertise to the sales team through applications engineering—translating customer requirements into viable product solutions.Prepare technical proposals, product specifications, and configuration packages that support the sales process from inquiry through order. Product Management & Project Delivery:Apply product management best practices to prioritize engineering initiatives, manage backlogs, and drive projects from concept to completion.Coordinate project timelines, resources, and deliverables across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams.R&D & Innovation:Contribute to new product design and R&D initiatives, bringing fresh ideas and an innovative mindset to expand Flameco’s product portfolio.Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies—including AI-driven tools and automation—to enhance engineering workflows and product capabilities. Qualifications:Required:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field. Strong understanding of core engineering principles, calculations, and design fundamentals.Proficiency or strong aptitude with Autodesk products (Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar parametric CAD tools).Solid grasp of product management best practices, including backlog prioritization, roadmap planning, and cross-functional coordination.Demonstrated interest in integrating advanced technologies (AI, automation, digital tools) to solve engineering problems.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Self-starter mentality with the ability to take ownership and drive outcomes independently. Preferred:Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with products related to the oil & gas industry or combustion processes.Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing routings, and ERP systems.Exposure to applications engineering or technical sales support.Experience with Autodesk iLogic, design automation, or configurable model frameworks.Internship or project experience in product development, R&D, or process engineering.
