Job Title: Deputy Director of Immigration & Social Services (DDISS)Department: Immigration and Social ServicesReports to: Executive DirectorJob SummaryThe Deputy Director of Immigration & Social Services is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing Pacific Gateway Center’s immigration legal services, social services, and disaster-related programs serving Hawaiʻi’s immigrant and refugee communities. This position provides strategic, operational, and programmatic leadership to ensure high-quality, culturally responsive services that promote stability and self-sufficiency.As a member of the executive leadership team, the Deputy Director supervises multidisciplinary staff across programs and islands, ensures compliance with legal and grant requirements, and leads program coordination, implementation, and performance. The role also supports organizational sustainability through budget oversight, grant development, and program expansion, and may provide immigration legal coverage as a DOJ-accredited representative or licensed attorney, as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & OperationsOversee immigration, social services, and disaster programs, ensuring effective implementation, compliance, and service qualitySupervise multidisciplinary teams, including attorneys, accredited representatives, case managers, and program staffLead program coordination across departments, islands, and partner organizationsEstablish and monitor performance, quality assurance, and reporting systemsManage budgets, grants, and reporting in coordination with accounting and development teamsIdentify risks, service gaps, and opportunities for program improvement and growthPartnerships & StrategyServe as liaison with government agencies, funders, and community partnersStrengthen cross-sector collaboration and integrated service deliverySupport grant writing, funding strategy, and program developmentImmigration ServicesProvide legal oversight and guidance; serve as DOJ-accredited representative or attorney, as neededEnsure compliance with immigration laws, accreditation standards, and case management practicesSocial Services & Disaster ProgramsOversee social services and disaster case management programs, ensuring coordinated, culturally responsive careSupport outreach, referrals, and partnerships to connect clients with essential resourcesPromote equitable access to services across immigrant and refugee communitiesQualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in a related fieldDOJ-accredited representative or licensed attorney in good standing or direct case management experience10+ years of relevant experience, including immigration or social services2+ years of supervisory or management experienceStrong leadership, communication, and cross-cultural skillsExperience with grants, program management, and complianceDisaster response experience preferredAdditional InformationSchedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings/weekendsLocation: Honolulu, HI (with limited remote work)Travel: Inter-island travel as neededSalary: $80,000–$90,000 (DOE)Benefits: Comprehensive package including health coverage, retirement, paid leave, and tuition reimbursement
