Manufacturing Line Technical Specialist
The Manufacturing Line Technical Specialist provides Production line support which helps to keep the line running safely, efficiently, and within quality targets. This position also includes process optimization to improve cycle times, throughput and yield.Roles And ResponsibilitiesResponsible for day-to-day management of all production-line tools and equipment:Receives and addresses requests for equipment support via ticket systemManages reference boardsCalibrates equipment and performs other preventative maintenance on equipment, according to a predetermined scheduleUpdates equipment maintenance records and other documentation according to the BEA Industrialization standardsManages on-hand stock of spare parts for equipmentUpdates equipment in the event of a new product part number or versionSupports IT to upgrade equipment and computers during network policy changesProvides support remotely for external parts suppliers who possess BEA equipment to troubleshoot and repair said equipmentRegularly gathers feedback from operators about ease of use and reliability of equipmentPerforms minor modifications to improve equipmentRecommends more significant design improvements to the Industrialization Design team and works with the Design team to incorporate improvementsSupports the transfer of manufacturing lines for existing products:As needed, builds clones of existing equipmentPrepare and conduct test plans to validate the new clonesSets up tools and equipment and verifies their correct functioningLeads Beta run, working with other departments, to prove the new lineProvides training and support for operating the tools and equipmentSupports New Product Development (NPD):Assists the Industrialization Design team with the development of new equipmentSupport Beta and Pilot runsAs needed, works with other departments (Operations, Quality) to improve process efficiencyCompetenciesRequirementsDegree(s) or certification(s):Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Associate’s Degree in Electronics with additional years of experienceRecertification NeededProfessional experience required:Minimum 3 Years Of Experience (Bachelor’s Degree)Minimum 5 years of experience (Associate’s degree)Technical SkillsBasic mechanical skills are requiredAbility to read an electrical schematic and relate with PCB layout is requiredAbility to read and interpret code is requiredAbility to troubleshoot electronics is requiredIT ProficiencyBasic computer skills are required:Ability to install and modify software applications and related driversKeen understanding of Windows file structure and ability to debug file-related issuesKnowledge of registry, network, domain, and other IT principles is a plusStrong expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is requiredLanguage SkillsEnglishRequiredFrench (optional)Interpersonal SkillsExcellent written skills are required, as all troubleshooting, modifying, and improving efforts to equipment must be documentedStrong verbal communication skills are required, as other departments must be notified of all changes to equipmentIncluding initiating the conversation; does not wait to be asked for a status updateKeeps meeting minutes and notesDemonstrated capability as a self-starter in a hands-on environmentStrong organizational skills are required; including maintaining a neat working environment, both physically (his or her own desk and common areas) and virtually (emails, files, etc.)Ability to independently manage his or her own schedule is required, in order to plan multiple efforts in parallelStrong initiative is required, both independently and with others:Natural curiosity; independently seeks knowledge by tinkering, reviewing available documentation, etc.Also seeks knowledge by initiating interaction with colleagues, mentors; asks good questionsStrong listening skills and ability to absorb new information#BEAAmerica
