Shipping Administrator Roles and Responsibilities
Role:
The Shipping Administrator will oversee and coordinate all shipping processes to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe handling of products. This role involves managing product shipments, maintaining accurate records, and liaison with suppliers and carriers to ensure timely deliveries. The Shipping Administrator will perform these duties while exemplifying the "Triton Way," serving as a positive role model for team members and embodying the organization's values in all interactions.
Reports to: Material / Logistics VSL
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee Shipments and Records: Produce, plan, and manage product shipments to ensure timely delivery, generate and verify shipping documentation, and maintain detailed records of all shipping activities, including tracking and inventory management.
Liaison with Suppliers and Carriers: Communicate with suppliers and carriers to manage shipping arrangements, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
Ensure Compliance: Follow all relevant regulations and company policies related to shipping and handling to maintain safety and compliance. Supply out of country customers with NAFTA documents annually.
Represent Company Values: Demonstrate and promote the "Triton Way" by acting as a positive role model for team members and embodying company values in all professional interactions.
Resolve Shipping Issues: Address and resolve any shipping-related problems or discrepancies promptly and effectively with the appropriate department.
Optimize and Monitor Shipping Processes: Continuously evaluate and improve shipping procedures to enhance efficiency, while tracking and addressing any delays or issues in the shipping process. Manage the inventory control system in the shipping department to ensure accurate stock levels and effective inventory management.
Manage Outside Processing: Monitor the outside processing whiteboard, report delays to the master scheduler, and create purchase orders for outside processing.
Team Supervision and Management: Oversee and guide direct reports, ensuring accuracy in their work and alignment with organizational goals. Assign daily tasks, such as directing dock hands for order picking and equipment pre-loading for transport. Foster a growth mindset, encourage continuous improvement, and maintain regular, open communication with all team members.
Leadership and behavior Responsibilities:
Implement and enforce 6S Practices: Apply 6S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety) to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe workspace, ensuring optimal workflow and adherence to safety standards.
Train and Motivate: Train and inspire direct reports by providing encouragement and support, simplifying the Triton Way processes, and maintaining a positive environment. Serve as a role model by exemplifying the Triton Way to motivate and guide team members.
Supervise and Assign Tasks: Manage and guide direct reports, ensuring accuracy in their work, and assign daily tasks, including directing dock hands to pick orders and pre-load equipment for Fish Creek transport.
Supply suggestions/ideas to make Triton a better work environment for all involved.

The shift premium for the weekend shift is $4/Hr.
