Attends nursing stations and performs clerical and reception duties and other services as directed. Provides clerical and unit support functions to promote an organized, efficient and smooth functioning unit.ResponsibilitiesMaintains the patient records Assists in the admission coordination of the patient. Transcribes and inputs physicians orders and patient information in a timely and accurate manner. Notifies nurse of orders requiring immediate attention and of stat, abnormal and diagnostic test results when completed. Screens and delivers phone and mail to appropriate individual. Greets and directs patients, visitors, physicians and employees upon arrival to department. Communicates issues or concerns to appropriate individual. Assesses and priorities a rapidly changing workload. Completes work in a timely manner. Maintains a clean and orderly work environment Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned QualificationsSpecial Skills:Basic computer skills and able to use phone and fax. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Minimum Requirements:Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED. Preferred Requirements:Experience: One year experience in a hospital setting.
