The Jr. Sous Chef plays a crucial role in the culinary department by overseeing kitchen inventory, focusing on food preparation set up.RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage and monitor inventory levels and ingredientsAssist in establishing menu specificationsMaintain quality by ensuring products are prepared according to guidelinesEnforce food qualityEnsure the safety of the physical kitchen and caf spaceAssist with and distribute work schedulesOversee front of house food preparationBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate3+ years of sous chef or culinary management experiencePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Sushi kitchen experienceDegree in culinary artsPortfolio of culinary experience showcasing sushi expertiseHigh volume production and catering experienceProven ability to create innovative menus on a daily basisAbility to perform under pressureExcellent communication skillsPossess a creative spirit and ability to make the culinary experience part of the SpaceX cultureADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to work overtime and weekends as neededStand: Up to 10 hours per daySit: Up to 3 hours per dayPush/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per dayOverhead reach: Up to 1 hour per dayWalk: Up to 3 hours per dayLift/Carry: Up to 25lbs.
