Tool Coordinator
Role, Function & Organization The Tool Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of tools and equipment to support the company's projects. This role maintains accurate inventory, ensures timely delivery and return of tools, and performs routine maintenance to keep all equipment job-ready. The Tool Coordinator assists with transportation planning, procurement, and supplier management to optimize costs and service quality. As such the following values guide our behaviors: Safety -- Always, A Servant's Heart -- Focus on the Needs of Others, Wisdom -- Insightful, Integrity -- Honesty and Trustworthy, Courage -- Decisive and Confident in Others, Humility -- Modest and Respectful, Passion -- Unfailing DedicationEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesTool & Inventory Management:Maintain accurate inventory controls through continuous improvement in physical inventory management and software trackingMonitor inventory levels and ensure proper documentation of all tools and materialsCoordinate with managers to establish best practices for inventory tracking and maintenanceTransportation & LogisticsHelp coordinate and make tool deliveries to job sites in a timely and efficient mannerSupport management in developing and implementing transportation planning processes to optimize delivery, reduce costs, and ensure consistent, high-quality serviceCollaborate with teams to ensure tools and materials are delivered and returned as scheduledQuality Control & MaintenancePerform routine tool maintenance to ensure all equipment is functional and ready for useWork with tooling crew to coordinate repairs, maintenance, and replacements as neededVerify that tools meet quality standards before dispatch to job sitesDemand Planning & ProcurementRespond to daily tooling requests and returns, controlling inventory to meet project needs and deadlinesAssist management with supplier relationships, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and issue resolutionSupport procurement efforts by sourcing tools and rentals at the best available pricing while ensuring budget adherenceSafety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination: Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task. Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention. Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents. Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed. Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel. Qualifications And RequirementsHigh School Diploma (or equivalent) requiredRelevant experience preferredExperience, Skill And Abilities Positive safety attitude and personal integrity -- both are non-negotiableExcellent written and verbal communicationStrong organization skillsKnowledge of tool/equipment tracking software preferred.Knowledge of construction industry tools preferred.Knowledge of Lean practices to ensure continuous improvement.Knowledge of the newest technologies to expedite distributionPhysical Requirements Ability to maintain a consistent workload.Ability to perform moderate manual labor in tool handling.Must lift up to 50 pounds.Office environment requiring sitting and standing.Frequent time spent in office warehouse coordinating tools, exposing employee to noise and moving machinery.Frequent travel to various construction sites is essential, exposing employee to outdoor elements, noise and the need to stand and walk.
