Job Description Structural FitterLocations: Houston, TX 77051 & 77029Day and Night Shifts AvailablePay: $25.00–$30.00/hour DOE (Depending on Experience)Night Shift Premium: Additional 10% shift differential on top of the offered rateOverviewApache Workforce is hiring experienced Structural Fitters to support steel fabrication and assembly operations for industrial manufacturing partners. This role focuses on layout, fitting, cutting, and preparing structural materials prior to welding and final assembly.Structural Fitters play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, alignment, and proper preparation of materials used in heavy industrial fabrication.What You'll Be DoingStructural Fitters are responsible for:Laying out, measuring, cutting, and fitting structural steel componentsPreparing joints and materials for welding and fabricationReading and interpreting blueprints, fabrication drawings, and layout instructionsUsing torches, beveling tools, and machining equipment for material preparationPerforming tack welding to hold assemblies in placeVerifying alignment, dimensions, and fit-up using measuring toolsCompleting basic inspection documentation when requiredGrinding, finishing, and preparing materials using hand and power toolsMaintaining safe, clean, and organized work areasSupporting welders and fabrication teams as needed during production flowWhat We're Looking ForMinimum 5 years of structural fitting or fabrication experienceStrong ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawingsExperience with layout work, fit-up, and structural steel preparationBasic welding knowledge (tack welding experience preferred)Skilled in torch cutting, beveling, and material prep toolsStrong math and measurement skills for layout and alignment workKnowledge of structural shapes, steel sizes, and fabrication materialsAbility to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a heavy industrial fabrication shop and may include:Exposure to non-climate-controlled environments (heat, cold, noise)Standing, walking, bending, and repetitive movement for extended periodsLifting materials up to 50 lbs frequentlyClimbing, kneeling, and overhead work as requiredUse of full PPE including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and hard hatShifts up to 10 hours per day, up to 6 days per week depending on production needsWhat We OfferCompetitive pay based on experienceWeekly payAccess to multiple industrial fabrication opportunitiesLong-term placement potentialCareer growth opportunities in skilled tradesMedical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance options401(k) retirement planPaid time off for eligible employeesTeam-oriented, safety-focused environmentPay Range:$20.00 – $30.00/hr (based on experience, skill level, and assignment)Equal Opportunity EmployerApache Workforce is an equal opportunity employer and connects qualified candidates with employment opportunities regardless of background.
