St Joseph, MOContract Duration: 18-36 monthsRate: NegotiableResponsibilities:Excellent employment opportunity for a Scientist II in the St Joseph, MO area.Shift: flexible 6:00AM through 6:00PMContributes to and assists in the execution of analytical testing methods to support the biological development of vaccines, therapeutics, and other related products.Conducts sample testing for process and analytical development as dictated by project requirements.Actively engages in learning new techniques through expert-led training and self-motivation, enabling independent performance of standard scientific and laboratory duties with minimal supervision.Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.While working at the Company, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development and delivery of our products to our patients and customers.Our global presence provides opportunity for all employees to collaborate internationally, offering visibility and opportunity to directly contribute to the companies' success.Assure Analytical Development missions:Set up, execute studies, and support development of robust and reliable methods for analytical testingCarry out and assure the testing of submitted samples with the appropriate methodsTroubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations to increase efficiencyEnsure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) or other requirements; making sure that all data are recorded and other documentation and files are checked, secured, and approvedHelp maintain the Analytical labApply basic scientific principles with minimal guidance.Assist in the execution of non-routine experiments with supervisionContribute to project advancement:To follow protocols, complete results, and provide data compilation for reportsTo correctly analyze data/results and interpret outcome of experiments under supervisionTo develop and maintain interfaces with Analytical team members, internal partners, and customers (Clinical Analytical, Process Development, and other Global Innovation teams)To ensure all information and documentation necessary to meet project timelines is available in the agreed upon timeComplies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; maintains proper records in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policiesWillingness to learn from and and actively engage in work with other colleagues to supprt a collaborative team environmentExperienceBachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with minimum of two (2) years of experience in related scientific discipline is preferredBackground in microbiology, immunology, cellular and molecular biology, virolologyGeneral knowledge of bioanalytical techniquesBasic level of understanding of USDA and EMA requirementsMust be able to work cross-functionallyDemonstrate willingness to advance knowledge of analytical development and vaccinologyApply knowledge of basic theory and scientific principlesAbility to learn new technology and concepts and apply appropriately with minimal supervisionConcise and accurate reporting of technical data and informationAbility to troubleshootWritten and verbal communication skillsAppropriate level of understanding of applicable regulations
