This role blends system-level modeling, data analysis, and technical documentation to support navigation and landing system performance.Position SummaryThe Math Modeling Engineer will use advanced modeling and simulation tools to evaluate NAVAID performance in real-world environments. Responsibilities include recreating terrain and physical features within modeling platforms, analyzing modeled results against measured flight inspection data, and delivering clear technical reports and briefings. The role may also involve development of analytical tools using basic programming techniques.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform system-level modeling and simulation of NAVAID performanceAnalyze simulation outputs and compare results with flight inspection measurement dataBuild terrain and object representations using modeling softwarePrepare detailed technical reports, analysis documentation, and presentationsSupport Navigation and Landing teams with modeling, analysis, and troubleshooting effortsAssist in developing and refining analytical tools and methodologiesApply basic coding techniques to support modeling and data analysis tasksWork EnvironmentHybrid schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remoteRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline1–5 years of relevant experience, including internships or co-op experienceMaster’s degree may be substituted for required work experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to produce clear, well-structured technical documentationMust be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent ResidentTechnical SkillsetExperience or demonstrated interest in:Data analysis and interpretationTechnical writing and reportingPythonMATLABBasic programming or scripting experienceMicrosoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPointCAD and simulation tools (AutoCAD, ANSYS, or similar) – a plusWhy Join SSTCompetitive compensation100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance starting Day One401(k) plan with company matchGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO)11 paid federal holidaysTo apply for this job email your details to recruiter@sst-it.com
