Night Shift Production Team Lead

Overview:A large manufacturing organization is seeking a Production Team Lead with an engineering background to support night shift operations. This role is ideal for engineers seeking hands-on plant experience while leading production teams in a continuous manufacturing environment. The position offers long-term growth into leadership or process engineering roles and cross-functional exposure across operations.Key Responsibilities:Lead Packaging Technicians and Spray Operators during night shift productionTroubleshoot temperature- and pressure-driven processes in continuous manufacturing systemsProvide technical support related to heat and mass transfer, air balancing, pneumatic systems, and fluid handling equipmentMonitor and respond to process issues involving pumps, blowers, cooling systems, and thermal processesSupport safe, efficient production and continuous improvement initiativesCollaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teamsAssist with SOP updates and operational documentation as neededRequired Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering2+ years of process engineering experience in chemical, food/bakery, or paper manufacturingStrong understanding of continuous manufacturing, chemical/thermal processes, and temperature and pressure systemsHands-on troubleshooting experience with heat and mass transfer, pneumatic systems, and liquid handling equipmentWillingness and ability to work night shiftPlusses:Exposure to congealing or spray towers, packaging lines, or hydrate/tube chill processesExperience using SAP for inventory, material movements, and finished goods adjustmentsExperience analyzing process data and trendsSOP writing or revision experiencePrior team lead or supervisory experience
