Business Development, Engagement, and Events Intern

Greater Washington Partnership (the Partnership) is a cross-sector alliance of leading employers in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia committed to championing the region’s economic growth and prosperity.The Partnership is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Intern to support the Business Development, Engagement, and Events (BDEE) team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundraising operations, stakeholder engagement, research and analysis, and event execution.The intern will play a key role in supporting the Partnership’s member engagement and development strategy, while collaborating across teams to align business priorities with regional initiatives. This position is ideal for candidates interested in business development, nonprofit strategy, public-private partnerships, and regional economic growth.The BDEE intern will work a part-time schedule, with specific hours and days of the week determined upon hire. This role is hybrid and requires a mix of remote and in-person work (with a preference for the majority of hours completed in-person on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays, with the remainder of hours completed remotely on Mondays/Fridays).The selected intern will receive an hourly wage of $20.Core Responsibilities·      Support various projects to maintain and update Salesforce CRM records to ensure data accuracy and completeness·      Assist in preparing reports, dashboards, and prospect pipeline summaries·      Conduct research on current and prospective member organizations and regional stakeholders·      Track relevant business, economic, workforce, and policy developments impacting the Partnership’s priorities·      Develop concise meeting briefs and stakeholder profiles to inform engagement strategies and support meetings·      Support preparation of meeting materials such as agendas, materials packets, talking points, and presentations·      Support coordination of stakeholder engagement communications ·      Assist the BDEE events management team in execution of Partnership events, including logistics, materials preparation·      Provide on-site event support (setup, registration, breakdown)What We Value·      Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate·      Interest in business development, nonprofit strategy, fundraising, or public-private partnerships·      Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills·      Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentWho We AreThe Partnership is a nonprofit alliance of influential and leading employers in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.
