Job Title: Cloud Engineer ILocation: Sterling, VA (Onsite)Job Type: Contract – 12 MonthsPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Cloud Engineer I to join a highly collaborative production engineering team supporting mission-critical broadcast and media delivery systems. This role is responsible for maintaining cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting media workflows, and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery across globally distributed environments.The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in networking, cloud technologies, and remote troubleshooting tools while thriving in a fast-paced operational environment.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support for cloud infrastructure supporting global playout services.Troubleshoot and support multi-channel playout automation systems and media workflows.Monitor and maintain stable and reliable service delivery for broadcast operations.Support IP networking technologies including TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, VLANs, and multicast protocols.Configure and support monitoring and control systems.Support signal routing systems for audio, video, and Video-over-IP traffic.Utilize Network Management Systems (NMS), SNMP MIBs, OIDs, and traps for monitoring and troubleshooting.Configure, support, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers, workstations, and hardware components.Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and reference materials.Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to optimize hardware and software configurations.Monitor incident tracking systems and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.Required QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of hands-on IT engineering experience in a cloud-based operational environment.Strong understanding of IT networking fundamentals including IP addressing, routing, and connectivity troubleshooting.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or similar environments.Experience using remote support and troubleshooting tools including SSH, Telnet, and Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).Experience supporting Windows and Linux operating systems.Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and virtual machine technologies.Ability to work independently and within a team environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience with firewalls, routers, load balancers, SAN technologies, and Active Directory.Knowledge of broadcast technologies and media workflows.Experience with MPEG-4 encoders, transport stream analyzers, and satellite transmission equipment.Understanding of broadcast automation systems.Familiarity with SMPTE 2022-7, SMPTE 2110, NDI, RTP, SCTE, CC 708/608, Dolby AC3 standards, and transport streams.Industry certifications such as:CCNACompTIA A+ or Network+AWS Certified Solutions Architect – AssociateVMware certificationsMicrosoft certificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
