Field Engineer
TheFieldEngineer’s (Level II)primary responsibility is towork withcustomers,sales associates,operational employees, and management toprovide technical support,develop applications andcreateengineeredsolutions to meet customer needs, andbethe subject matter expertfor Swagelokproducts,services,and applications.The ideal candidate willhavestrong mechanical aptitude,experience in aconsultative sales approach, excellent communication and presentation skills, and outstanding customer service. This positionis responsible forsupporting sales of fluid system components, assembly and fabrication solutions, and related services to business and industrial facilities, as well as individuals within factories, plants, universities, or other locations. In addition, the Field Engineer will develop and provide fluid handling systemsto specific customer needs and specifications through project support and onsite troubleshooting as part of evaluation and advisory services.
Please note that this role is customer facing and will requirefrequentin-metro travel to customer sites. In addition,there willbein-state overnight traveland out-of-state travel up to 20%to support out-of-metro customersandparticipatein continuing education.TheFieldEngineerIIreports to theDirector of Engineering Services.
What you will do: Collaborate with account managers toidentifynew and growing sales opportunities, earn customer specifications/contracts for future projects, and support the sale of assemblies and services.
Configureand developengineeredsolutions for customers based on business needsusingfirst principles, engineering experience and judgement,andSwagelokproduct knowledge.
Perform field service evaluations of customer fluid systems toidentifyareas of improvement, driveefficiencies, and offerpossible solutionsvia formal reports, ensuring a safety-first mindsetthroughout.
Providetechnical product and application support to Customer Service and Sales teamsfor escalated technical customer requests, as well asin-houseAssembly & Fabricationteam.
Prepare and deliver technical training presentations that explain products, systems,or services to internal andexternal stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with the sales team and customers on status and expectations.
Continually learn about clients’ businesses, their needs, value add, and cultures.Actively pursue training opportunitiesin order togainadditionalknowledge.
Ensureeach opportunity quoted or assembled adheres to the organizational processes and policiesand meetsQuality standards.

Qualifications: Completion of anABETaccreditedengineering degree
5-10Yearsof mechanical, process, chemical or industrial engineering experience;Oil & Gas,Aerospace, Semiconductor, Pharma, or other Industrial/Manufacturing Plant Experience
Expertisein developing fluid systems, including the ability to conceptualize and create Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)and fluid schematics;the ability to translate complex customer concepts into executableengineered solutions; the ability to interpret EPC specificationsand deliver product recommendations
Microsoft Office environment experiencerequired; CAD and ERP/MRP experience preferred; CRM experience preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Detail oriented and consistently completeappropriate taskswithin process functions
Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to lift, push, pull and carry 50lbs or more. Must be comfortable sitting, standing, walking, squatting, and bending throughout shift.
