Lead Host Tasca | Upper West Side, NYC Tasca is seeking a polished, organized, and hospitality-driven Lead Host to join our front-of-house team. This position is ideal for a service professional who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment, leads with warmth and professionalism, and understands the importance of guest recognition, reservation management, and strong floor communication. The Lead Host is responsible for overseeing the host stand, maintaining full ownership of the reservation book, supporting service flow, and ensuring every guest receives a seamless and welcoming experience from arrival to departure. Responsibilities Maintain full ownership of the reservation book and monitor all reservations daily Oversee booking protocols in coordination with the Floor Manager, Maître d’, and Events Department at the direction of the General Manager Manage the flow of reservations in the reservation system to ensure an effective seating pattern and smooth service Review upcoming reservations before each shift and communicate large parties, VIPs, special notes, and important guest details to management and the front-of-house team Assist management with floor plan development and table arrangements for service Confirm upcoming reservations that remain unconfirmed in the reservation system Maintain accurate guest profiles, including birthdays, anniversaries, allergies, preferences, and notes from past visits Update reservation notes and guest profiles based on service team feedback and guest interactions Perform final quality checks on guest experiences and help ensure follow-through on special touches Prepare thank-you notes and celebratory cards for birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions Maintain relationships with concierges and partner booking channels with approval from the General Manager Communicate overbookings, reservation irregularities, and grid issues promptly to the Floor Manager and or Maître d’ Support, guide, and hold the host team accountable to service standards; report service issues to management Train new host team members as assigned Complete opening and closing side work related to the front desk, coat check, and guest restrooms Set and maintain the host stand for service, ensuring menus, pens, paper, business cards, and other materials are stocked and organized Make minor menu updates and print menus when necessary Maintain a clean, polished, and orderly front desk and entry area at all times Warmly greet all guests, check in reservations, quote accurate wait times, and escort guests to assigned tables Ensure all guests are acknowledged quickly and cared for efficiently Offer coat check assistance for coats, bags, luggage, umbrellas, and personal belongings Update table statuses throughout service to support accurate pacing and seating Ensure tables are fully set prior to seating guests Assist with clearing and resetting tables during high-volume periods to support timely seating Perform routine dining room and restroom checks throughout service Maintain restroom cleanliness by restocking supplies, emptying trash, wiping counters, and monitoring overall condition Communicate maintenance, facility, or deep-cleaning issues to management in real time Notify management immediately of seating delays, service bottlenecks, or guest concerns Report to each scheduled shift on time, in proper uniform, and ready to work Assist other stations or areas of the restaurant as directed by management Qualifications Previous host experience required; additional front-of-house leadership experience preferred minimum of 1 year of experience Strong understanding of reservation management and guest flow in a high-volume restaurant Professional, poised, and guest-focused demeanor Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented under pressure Experience with reservation platforms and guest profile management preferred Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required What We Offer Opportunity to join a professional and service-driven front-of-house team Fast-paced, team-oriented restaurant environment Growth potential within a strong hospitality operation Tasca is an equal opportunity employer.
