Surgical Tech Location: Geneva, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,479 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 9 hours Contract Duration: 14 Weeks Start Date: 5/25/2026 About the Position Job Title: Surgical Scrub Tech Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Acute: Tech: Surgical Tech Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: 4x9 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 9 Hours Experience: Minimum 1 Year Required License: Required Certifications: BLS (through AHA or RQI), OR Tech Certification Required Must-Have: - BLS (through AHA or RQI) - OR Tech Certification Description: The Scrub Technician participates as a team member in the planning and implementation of nursing care for each patient. Demonstrates an ability to work with the medical, nursing, and ancillary services to provide safe patient care. Demonstrates a professional and courteous manner and handles confidential information with discretion for the patient and their family. Demonstrates the ability to clean instruments and ensure sterility by utilizing appropriate procedures. Recognizes successful completion of steam autoclave and automated high-level disinfectant units. Selects equipment and supplies in an organized manner based on the surgical procedure. Demonstrates competence in preparing instrument sets according to preference lists, patient history, and age. Utilizes supplies cost-effectively. Demonstrates ability to handle and operate sophisticated equipment. Detects and readily adapts to changes in surgical procedures. Creates and maintains a sterile field. Maintains aseptic technique at all times in accordance with established standards. Demonstrates the ability to open and handle sterile supplies, perform proper surgical hand scrubbing, don sterile gown and gloves, set up the sterile field, receive sterile supplies, and assist in properly draping the patient. Initiates corrective measures when a break in sterile technique occurs. Demonstrates the ability to work with medical and nursing staff in providing safe patient care. Uses care with sharps to prevent injury or contamination. Follows policies and procedures for counts and maintains an adequate count of all countable items on the sterile field. Initiates proper protocol when counts are incorrect. Accurately draws up medication with proper labeling of all solutions and syringes. Serves as a preceptor and mentor to new employees. Assesses the surgical environment for safety, cleanliness, and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Supports a state of continual service readiness.
