Grinder Technician

Job Description Summary:The Grinder Technician is responsible for performing and maintaining the daily activities associated with the regrind of scrap and waste material. This includes housekeeping, safety, quality, maintaining production efficiencies, and repair and maintenance to minimize downtime. This position has schedule flexibility. Primary Job Responsibilities:The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environmentImmediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts, or injuries to the Production ManagerPreform preventive maintenance on all equipment as neededMaintain facility housekeepingMaintain and build job skills through company training programsCompletion of grinder log and reporting paperworkTroubleshoot process mechanical problems and report issues to Maintenance team as need is requiredAdhere to ISO 9001 Quality, certification requirementsOther duties as assignedKnowledge & Skill Requirements:This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:High school diploma or equivalent, desiredMechanical troubleshooting abilitiesAnalytical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate heavy machineryPunctual with good attendanceSelf-motivated and dependablePhysical Requirements:Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feetAbility to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremesPosition requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipmentAbility to use hands, arms, and legs to physically handle and transport finished goodsWorking Conditions:Must be able to perform repetitive motion. Examples: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standingClarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast repetitious operation for extended periods of time.
