Structural (Bridge) Engineer Department: TRANSPORTATION Location: Newport News, VASTART YOUR APPLICATIONATCS is looking for a qualified Bridge Engineer to join our Structural Engineering practice. This role will report out of our Herndon headquarters where offer a flex, hybrid environment.This role will include performing simple and complex analysis, design, and documentation of various transportation structures with emphasis on single and multi-span bridges, culverts, retaining walls, foundations, sign structures, and ITS structures. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, communicate proactively, and enjoy collaborating with others.Role Responsibilities:Complete design tasks with supervision; Coordinate the structural design with other disciplines and construction teamCompile data and perform calculations required for the preparation of drawings and design studiesDevelop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget and schedulesPrepare cost estimatesPrepare construction documentsConduct bridge inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations as neededRequired Qualifications:Bachelors Degree Civil and Structural Engineering from ABET accredited engineering program; Masters degree in Structural Engineering highly desired0 to 5+ years of experienceEIT certification requiredExperience with VDOT, PennDOT or MDOT (SHA-MdTA) projects desirableProficient with Microstation and/or Open Bridge DesignerAvailability and willingness to travelAbility to work independently and as part of a project teamAbility to understand complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutionsComfortable performing in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment and decision makingOur employees are the most critical part of ATCS. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $72,000 to $127,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
