Mainframe Network Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES: Kforce has a client in Chandler, AZ that is seeking a Mainframe Network Engineer who will solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. The Mainframe Network Engineer will be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world. This role requires employees to live in or around the Phoenix, AZ area. This person will be responsible to be onsite 3 days a week. We will consider candidates who are willing to relocate to the area. Responsibilities: * Install, upgrade, and maintain CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) environments * Apply patches (PTFs), manage version upgrades, and perform regression validation * Configure and maintain CICS regions (production, test, DR) * Maintain startup parameters and system initialization tables (DFHSIT) * Perform tuning to eliminate bottlenecks Monitor transaction performance and system health using tools such as: * OMEGAMON/MainView/TMON Analyze: * Transaction response times * CPU utilization * Storage usage REQUIREMENTS: * To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed * Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
