Mechanical Test Engineer

We welcome candidates from the Fargo-Moorhead metro and beyond to apply.Employees working in Fargo, ND will enjoy professional growth and community engagement through our regional presence in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.As a Mechanical Test Engineer, you will:Perform hands‑on lab work including test setup, execution, data acquisition, and teardownDesign and develops mechanical tests based on engineering test request requirementsSet up and remove test fixtures using cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipmentConfigure and operate data acquisition systems for component and system‑level testingBuild, install, and verify mechanical assemblies to ensure accurate and repeatable test conditionsWork closely with other engineers to translate test objectives into actionable proceduresCollect, analyze, and report test data to support engineering decisions and product improvementsSupports continuous improvement of test methods, instrumentation, and lab processesThrives in a hands‑on shop environment with daily mechanical work and equipment interactionRole is well‑suited for someone eager to learn; on-the-job training can be providedWork collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partnersContribute to projects that impact communities in the greater Fargo-Moorhead metroApply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovationQUALIFICATIONSBachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required; a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag/Biosystems will also be consideredStrong mechanical aptitude with comfort working in a shop or lab environmentExperience with mechanical assembly, heavy equipment, ag machinery, or automotive systems helpfulFamiliarity with engines, drivetrains, hydraulic systems, or component‑level testing beneficialAbility to set up, operate, and troubleshoot data acquisition systemsComfortable using cranes, forklifts, and other material‑handling equipment for test setupAbility to follow engineering specifications and ensure precise, repeatable test conditionsStrong interest in learning new test methods, instrumentation, and engineering practicesEffective communication skills for documenting results and collaborating with engineersHands‑on technician or lab experience preferred, but motivated early‑career engineers encouraged to applyCapable of working independently and as a team memberStrong work ethic and unwavering integrityExcellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindsetCuriosity, problem solving, and analytical thinkingEffective verbal and written communicationDesire to work on a variety of projectsESTIMATED PAY RANGEEngineer I: $34.62–$40.38/hourEngineer II: $38.46–$44.23/hourEngineer III: $43.27–$49.04/hourSenior Engineer: $46.63–$53.85/hourFinal compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations.
