The Underwriter will evaluate each member account and suggest solutions which will add value to their membership. At the sametime, this will also build value to the credit union within our risk guidelines. As a loan processor responsible for booking consumer loans and meeting required individual floor goals and departmentgoals.Responsibilities Responsible for providing members with proper disclosures, collect signatures, forms andproper ID’s for all accounts/services Have in-depth knowledge of our products and services in order to assist the members on thebenefits of a new loan. Responsible for all aspects of setting up new loans Interview applicant and assist with detailed information regarding their specific financialneeds Process loan application in accordance with CU policies and procedures and risk-basedguidelines. Gather required documentation such as proof of income, employment and references forproper underwriting Data entry of loan application and all documentation into Loancierge; review credit reportsand prepare debt to income ratios and all aspects of underwriting loans Prepare closing documents with disclosures, schedule closing interview with loan processingand disburse funds as specified Cross-sell credit related insurance products (GAP, credit insurance, extended warranties) Look up NADA book values and assist members in finding new and used cars; use DealerSelect program Prepare title transfer and CU lien documents for Auto, RV, Boat and motorcycle purchases orrefinances. Process changes in terms for existing loans such as due date modification and frequencychanges Work Contact Manager Queue as required and in a timely fashion (24 hours or less) Provide adverse action on loans denied. Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but notlimited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, OFAC, NCUAPrivacy Regulations, Reg DD, Reg D, Reg E, Reg CC, Reg Z, Reg B, Service Members CivilRelief, FCRA/FACTA, and Right to Financial Privacy Act. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to performThe Essential Functions.Knowledge and Experience: Ability to evaluate the member’s needs and suggest solutions from our products and services Knowledge in lending and Loancierge system Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, rates, percentages, ratios Ability to read, analyze and interpret instructions, procedures and regulations One-year PC experience including word, excel, and other Microsoft applications Complete working knowledge of credit union products and services, including but not limitedto: loans, savings accounts, certificates of deposits, IRA programs, share draft programs,ATM and debit card services, direct deposit, payroll deduction, BALANCE, Alert Me, CUNAMutual insurance products, and more Knowledgeable about the credit union system, its structure, common language andacronyms, philosophy and the credit union’s mission statementRequirements Experience reading and interpreting credit reports Familiarity with computers and banking applications/software Solid understanding of lending products and practices Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
