Activity Aide Southbrooke Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - Edna, TX 77957Overview Position Type Part TimeDescription Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Activity Aide will be responsible for assisting the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing the residents' activity program.The Activity Aide collaborates with the Activity Director in organizing various employee and non-employee events for the facility.Essential FunctionsFacilitate both individual and group activities based on the individual needs of the residents.Ensure that activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residentsAssist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activitiesProvide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and document in the appropriate recordAssist with the preparation of monthly calendar and posting in an area accessible, highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors. Calendar should also be provided to each resident and posted in roomAssist with generating the facility newsletterParticipate in community events related to the interest of the facility.Attend in-services as necessaryAssist residents to and from activitiesAssist with activity program including Residents' Council and night and weekend activities as neededDeliver resident mail dailyOther duties as assigned by the Activity Director and/or AdministratorQualifications Educational/Training RequirementsA school diploma or its equivalent is preferredLicensing RequirementsA Certified Nurse Aide is preferredExperience RequirementsPrevious experience working in activity or recreational department in the long-term care industry or related industry is preferredPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative but not necessary all inclusive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
