Benefits Coordinator

4 days onsite - New York, NY/Greenwich, CTPay: $28-30/hr on W2Contract to HireWe are seeking a Benefits Coordinator to support the administration and day-to-day operations of our employee benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and leave programs. This role is ideal for a benefits professional with 1 2 years of experience who is eager to build foundational expertise in benefits administration while working closely with senior benefits and HR team members. The Benefits Coordinator will assist with employee communications, vendor coordination, data accuracy, and employee support. This role plays an important part in ensuring employees understand and can effectively use their benefits.ResponsibilitiesSupport the administration of employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans, retirement plans, and leave programs.Serve as a first point of contact for basic employee questions about benefit plans, eligibility, and enrollment processes, escalating complex issues as appropriate.Assist employees and managers with leave of absence questions and documentation, working closely with HR, carriers, and third-party administrators.Assist with processing benefit enrollments, life event changes, new hires, and terminations in the HRIS and vendor systems.Process accurate benefits deductions, billing, and reconciliation.Assist with drafting and distributing employee-facing benefits communications and educational materials.Support new hire benefits orientation and onboarding activities.Coordinate with benefits vendors and external partners to support day-to-day administration.Collaborate with the broader HR team on wellness initiatives and employee experience projects.Handle sensitive and confidential information with care, professionalism, and discretion.Participate in ad hoc HR projects and initiatives as needed.Qualifications1-2 years of experience in Human Resources, benefits administration, or a related HR support roleBasic understanding of employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, retirement, leaves)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailCustomer-service mindset with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employeesAbility to handle confidential information with discretionComfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience with HRIS or benefits systems is a plusExposure to ACA, ERISA, or other benefits-related compliance concepts (training or on-the-job experience acceptable) is preferredExperience supporting open enrollment or benefits communications is preferredInterest in growing a career in benefits or total rewards is preferredREAD, UPDATE and DELETE - When putting your job descriptions into Job Diva please use Calibri for the Font and size 11.
