Founding Engineer / Technical Co-Founder (Equity-Based)
About VYRO:VYRO is building the "Operating System" for high-performance racket sports. Founded by Ryan Chen (Former D1 Squash, Columbia University) and Alex Kotzen (Former D1 Tennis, Columbia Universtiy), we are bridging the gap between elite athletic performance and digital data. We are currently scaling our summer engineering program and looking for a technical partner to lead our architecture into our next phase of growth.The Opportunity:We are looking for a Founding Engineer to join us as a Technical Co-founder. This is a high-stakes leadership role for a developer who wants to move beyond just writing code and start building a company. You will work directly with our founder and our current lead engineer, Nicholas, to transition into the head of our technical roadmap as he moves on after the summer.What You’ll Do:Lead the Squads: Oversee two engineering squads (each consisting of a lead and two interns) building out new sport UIs and athlete feedback modules.Architect the Future: Own the transition of our codebase as we scale from our MVP to a robust, multi-sport platform.Ship Mission-Critical Code: Handle high-level debugging and core infrastructure builds alongside our CTO.Founding Team Member: Participate in strategic decisions, fundraising prep, and product vision.Who You Are:Advanced Technical Depth: You are an expert in full-stack development and have experience managing complex deployments and code reviews.Natural Leader: You enjoy mentoring others and can translate complex technical needs into actionable tasks for junior devs.Founder’s Mindset: You are willing to invest "sweat equity" into a project you believe in. You prefer the high-upside potential of a co-founder role over the safety of a corporate 9-to-5.Compensation & Legal Disclosure:This is an equity-based founding role. As we are in the pre-seed stage, there is no initial cash salary.Equity Stake: A significant equity percentage will be granted, subject to a standard 4-year vesting schedule with a 1-year cliff.Path to Salary: This role is intended to transition into a full-time, market-rate paid executive position immediately upon completion of our first funding round.The Selection Process:We value skill and "speed-to-ship" above all else.
