Benefits Specialist

HumanEdge is recruiting on behalf of a client for a Benefits Specialist with a focus on employee benefits. This role manages complex Tier 2 benefits inquiries, provides guidance on eligibility and enrollment, and serves as the primary escalation point for policy interpretation or compliance issues. The position ensures accurate case management, supports team knowledge, and helps improve the overall employee experience.Key Responsibilities:Handle complex benefits inquiries, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FMLA, COBRA, and 401(k).Act as the Tier 2 escalation resource and maintain ownership of cases through resolution.Prepare summaries for specialized teams when policy interpretation or compliance decisions are required.Deliver professional, empathetic support to employees and managers.Support knowledge sharing and cross-training within the HR Shared Services team.Assist with benefits system updates, audits, and reporting.Qualifications:Required:3+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR operations.Experience with complex benefits inquiries and escalations.Working knowledge of benefits regulations (ACA, ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ADA).Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred).Strong communication and multi-tasking skills.Preferred:Bachelor’s degree.Experience in healthcare or regulated environments.Experience supporting open enrollment and vendor coordination.Ideal Candidate:Strong customer focus with sound judgment on escalations.Maintains compliance while building employee trust.Proactively identifies trends and recommends process improvements.Shares expertise to strengthen team knowledge and reduce unnecessary escalations.
