Assistant Professor of Agruculture

Huntington University has an opening for an Assistant Professor of Agriculture. Teaching responsibilities will include a range of undergraduate courses in either animal science or crop science, depending on the candidate's area of expertise. Additional responsibilities may include supervising crop production or livestock care, as appropriate. Faculty members are also expected to advise students and contribute through service on University committees.QUALIFICATIONSMust have a strong personal Christian commitment and faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve othersMust be committed to the mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian College dedicated to educating students to impact our world for ChristStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with students, colleagues, and external agricultural organizations.Demonstrated understanding of Christian higher education, preferredExcellent communications skillsA doctoral degree in an agricultural discipline is preferred; candidates with a master's degree and significant relevant professional experience will also be considered.Extensive experience in agriculture.Prior successful university-level teaching experience is preferred.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESTeaching load of 24 hours per academic year. Typically, four classes per semester (12 hours).Serve as an academic advisor with studentsParticipate in weekly department and faculty meetingsAssist with departmental assessmentParticipate in committees as assignedSeek opportunities for professional growthMaintain scheduled office hoursGeneral Information: Huntington University is an independent, Christian liberal arts university.
