This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for a strategic thinker and operator who is passionate about shaping narratives, advising clients, and delivering high-impact communications programs within healthcare.The VP will partner closely with agency leadership to define and scale this capability, while serving as a senior advisor to clients, leading strategy, and overseeing the development of insight-driven, creative PR campaigns.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild & Lead Corporate Communications OfferingPartner with agency leadership to define, build, and scale the corporate communications practice, including service offerings, capabilities, and go-to-market strategyEstablish frameworks, best practices, and processes to deliver best-in-class corporate communications programsContribute to agency growth through thought leadership and new business developmentClient Strategy & Senior CounselServe as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders across biotech and healthcare organizationsLead the development of corporate communications strategies, including corporate narrative, positioning, executive visibility, and reputation managementProvide ongoing strategic counsel across key milestones, including clinical data readouts, regulatory events, partnerships, and company growth stagesPR Campaign Strategy & Creative LeadershipLead end-to-end development of integrated PR campaigns, from insight generation and strategy through creative executionOversee storytelling that translates complex science into compelling narratives across stakeholder channelsEnsure campaigns are differentiated, audience-centric, and grounded in strong strategic insightsPatient Advocacy StrategyShape and lead patient advocacy strategies, including engagement with advocacy organizations, coalition building, and disease awareness initiativesEnsure patient-centric storytelling remains at the core of communications programsHands-On ExecutionAct as a "player-coach," actively contributing to strategy development, content creation, messaging, and campaign executionWrite and edit key materials, including messaging platforms, press materials, executive communications, and thought leadershipGuide teams in delivering high-quality outputs across all client engagementsCross-functional CollaborationWork closely with internal teams (account, digital, creative, medical) to deliver integrated communications programsCollaborate across client stakeholders, including clinical, medical affairs, investor relations, and commercial teamsTeam Leadership & MentorshipMentor and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performing, collaborative cultureProvide clear direction, feedback, and support across project teamsQualifications7+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or corporate affairs within a healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical communications agencyProven ability to develop and execute corporate communications strategies and integrated PR campaignsExperience acting as a senior client advisor, with strong executive presenceCore SkillsCorporate narrative development and messaging strategyExceptional writing and storytelling skillsStrategic thinking combined with hands-on executionStrong interpersonal and client management skillsPreferred ExperienceExperience in oncology and/or patient advocacy communicationsExperience working with biotech companies (preclinical through commercialization)Exposure to corporate positioning tied to clinical development milestonesExperience supporting executive visibility and thought leadership programsLeadership ProfileEntrepreneurial and excited to build something from the ground upHands-on leader who thrives in a boutique, fast-paced environmentPassionate about patient impactCollaborative, strategic, and solutions-oriented
