HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEWThe Senior Legal Counsel Customs & Regulatory Affairs is responsible for providing comprehensive legal counsel across international trade laws, customs compliance, and regulatory affairs, engaging directly with executive leadership and U.S. government agencies.This is an in-office position based near Washington, DC.EXPECTATIONSAdvise business units on U.S. tariff policy, import/export regulations, sanctions, and other regulatory mattersEngage senior executives on trade compliance risks and develop remediation strategiesLead customs compliance and internal investigation discussions within the Global Customs CommitteeRepresent the company before CBP, BIS, DDTC, OFAC, TSA, and other U.S. government agenciesSupport implementation of corporate customs compliance structures and compliance manualsMonitor customs operations to identify compliance issues and develop corrective action plansAdvise on internal investigations, voluntary disclosures, and U.S. government audit managementMaintain relationships with government agencies and monitor regulatory developments to forecast business impactESSENTIALSJ.D. from an accredited law school required10+ years of experience in a corporate legal environmentExpertise in CBP regulations with knowledge of international trade laws, including TSA and BTAFExperience managing internal investigations on trade or regulatory compliance violationsExperience with DOJ and FISA subpoena inquiriesKnowledge of trade laws across key Americas markets preferredPrior government experience a plusLicensed Customs Broker a plus
